1Copy your projects
On the old Mac, everything you made lives in ~/Movies/Kirocast:
Projectsholds one.kirocastbundle per recording. Each bundle carries the screen recording, the camera track, the transcript, your narration, the click track and every version, so it opens anywhere as it is.Exportsholds the videos you exported, with their.events.jsonand.transcript.jsonfiles.
The folder button in the editor toolbar, Open Kirocast folder in Finder, takes you straight to Projects. Copy the whole Kirocast folder to a drive or a shared folder.
2Free your license
Your key is active on one Mac at a time. On the old Mac, while you’re online, choose Deactivate This Device… from the Kirocast menu bar icon. It takes effect right away and frees the license for the new Mac.
Sign in to the License Manager with the email you bought with. Each Mac is listed by its name; choose Deactivate next to the old one.
3Set up the new Mac
Download Kirocast and open it. The welcome sets up this Mac along the way:
- Connect your agent: choose Set Up Claude or Set Up Codex.
- Get ready to record: grant Screen Recording, then whichever of Microphone, Camera and Accessibility you use.
- Activate Kirocast: paste the same key and choose Activate.
If activation reads This license is already active on another device. Deactivate it there first., deactivate the old Mac from the License Manager, then choose Activate again.
4Bring your projects in
Copy your .kirocast bundles into ~/Movies/Kirocast/Projects, and your exports into ~/Movies/Kirocast/Exports. Choose Open History from the menu bar: every project in that folder is there, ready to open.
History lists the Projects folder. A bundle kept anywhere else opens with Open Project… or a double-click in Finder.
A project whose backdrop is an image you chose reads that image from where it was on the old Mac. Bring the image across, then pick it again in Frame → Backdrop → Image with Choose Image.
5Check your agents
Choose Settings… from the menu bar, then AI agents. Under Clients, each agent shows where it stands:
- Ready: nothing to do. This is what you see once the welcome has set it up.
- Installed, not set up yet: choose Set Up.
- Points at another copy of Kirocast: press Repair: choose Repair.
Then start a new session in your agent. The first time each agent connects on this Mac, Kirocast asks again whether it may control Kirocast; choose Allow. Your first transcription downloads the speech model again, about 600 MB, once.
