Send a report
- Open a project in the editor and choose the ladybug, Report a bug, at the top left, just after the window buttons.
- Under Description, say what happened and what you expected. The steps that lead to it help most.
- Choose Send Report.
Saw it while recording, in Talk mode or during the welcome? Choose Open Last Project from the menu bar, then send the report from there and describe where it happened. The report carries that project’s timeline.
What the report includes
The sheet lists everything that leaves your Mac before you send:
- The description above
- App and macOS version
- Hardware and display configuration
- Permission states
- The project’s timeline data: cuts, zooms, keyframes, settings
The project’s name, length and clicks come with the timeline, so the team can rebuild your edit. The video is never uploaded. Your Mac’s name, your user name and your file paths stay on your Mac; a custom backdrop image is reported by its file name only.
Your reference
Once the report lands, the sheet shows Report Sent and a reference such as KC-7F3K2Q. Choose Copy to keep it, then Done. Quote the reference in any email or message and the team finds your report in seconds.
With a license active on this Mac, the report is linked to it, so a reply can reach you. Without one, the sheet adds an Email field: fill it in for a follow-up.
If it doesn’t go through
Reports go out the moment you send them, so they need a connection. Your description stays in the field, ready for another try.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Could not reach the server. Check your connection and try again. | Get back online and choose Send Report again. |
| Too many reports. Please try again in a minute. | Wait a minute, then send again. |

For a question, an idea or anything a report can’t hold, email gabrielle@kirocast.com or join the Kirocast Discord. Include your reference when you have one.
When Kirocast quits unexpectedly, macOS hands the crash details to Kirocast on a later launch, and they reach the team on their own. A report saying what you were doing at the time helps match them up.
